
Today marks the last teaching day for Coach Peters. Coach Peters has spent the last 3 years at SLC, where he has established himself as a great math teacher, a wonderful mentor to our young adults, and a wonderful colleague. While we wish Coach Peters the best for his next job, he will be missed and always have a special place at SLC! Good luck!

There is a new class at SLC this year! Journalism. Nine students will be putting together a monthly newsletter for the entire school, along with producing one essay for the local newspaper The Courier. Kaitlyn McCorkle is the SLC student of the month for March. All her teachers unanimously selected Kaitlyn. All of which were surprised to find out she had not already been nominated and selected before. She has done a great job at SLC. Her teachers are proud of watching her become so successful. Congratulations Miss McCorkle!

Logan Sloss is the February SLC student of the month! Logan nominated for his leadership, hard work, and performance in the classroom, is always willing to help any fellow student in need. Logan will graduate in May and start college in August. We expect to see great things from this self-motivated young man.
Adrian Cuevas was awarded the Secondary Learning Center student of the month. Adrian was nominated by his English teacher, Ms. Shaw, for his hard work and is overall excellence in class. Adrian plans on attending UACCM when he graduates in May, and majoring in practical nursing.
