As a second grader, Oland Noakes is not only a dedicated student at Crawford Elementary School but also a beacon of resilience and innovation in the lives of all who know him.
Oland’s journey has been nothing short of extraordinary. Oland was diagnosed with cancer early in his childhood and has undergone numerous treatments throughout his time at Crawford Elementary. Despite the challenges that arise, Oland has learned how to keep up with his academics whether he is in a traditional school setting or learning elsewhere. No matter where he is learning, two things remain constant - his perseverance and work ethic.
"Oland’s determination is incredible," says Mrs. Jackson, Crawford Elementary Principal. "He approaches every day with a positive attitude and a willingness to tackle new challenges.
Oland Noakes is a remarkable young boy whose story of courage and academic excellence serves as an inspiration to all. His journey reminds us that even in the face of adversity, with perseverance and hard work, one can achieve extraordinary things.
Oland was recognized at the April RSD Board of Education Meeting for being an Innovative Achiever! This recognition comes from the RSD Profile of the Graduate, which outlines the attributes RSD graduates will encompass when they graduate.
